Please join Los Gatos Poet Laureate Jen Siraganian for a special poetry book club of Jericho Brown’s The Tradition (Copper Canyon 2019). Winner of the Pulitzer Prize and a finalist for both the National Book Award and the National Book Critics Circle Award, The Tradition tackles American identity, racial justice, trauma, queerness, police brutality, and most of all, survival. Lauded by U.S. Poet Laureate Tracy K. Smith as “one of the most luminous and courageous voices,” Jericho Brown also authored Please (New Issues 2008), winner of the American Book Award, and New Testament (Copper Canyon 2014). His poems have appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker, and The Best American Poetry. Check out a library copy of his powerful book and bring your thoughts, questions, and observations on Thursday, Sept. 30th.

You can pick up a Book Club copy of this book at the Circulation desk of the Library while copies are available. You may also place a hold on circulating copies here: https://catalog.losgatosca.gov/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?biblionumber=541539
