Virtual Art Talk - Expressions of Gender in Asian Art Online
Non-binary and gender fluid depictions have existed in Asian art for thousands of years. With purposeful ambivalence, these portrayals of gender identity allow us to consider the limitations of duality. Explore highlights from the Asian Art Museum collection that demonstrate the complexities of gender identity with male, female, and non-binary people and deities.
